Did you clock that?

A unique film afternoon, a special place, and a singular clock!

The church continues to enjoy visitors to the new heritage area – do come yourself and have a look, at the physical exhibits and the wonderful electronic store of stories, video and images.  It’s a great base or stop-off point for a walk – there is a small parking area at the cattle grid, accessible path, proper coffee machine, snack machine and toilet.  And with our newly restored organ if you are a player, do come and make some music!

Our monthly community events are back in full swing. Thanks to all who attended the recent Pancakes event (a lovely friendly, chatty time).  And on Saturday 21st March 1.00pm at the Village Hall we have a Film, Soup and Cake event – showing the various film and videos collected during the project.  Want a virtual tour of the Church Tower? Interested in aerial LiDAR and flythrough images of the Hill?  Want to hear local voices tell of their experiences, or hear extracts of the Song of the Hill concert?  Want a bowl of hearty home-made soup and some cake?  Then you know where to come!

Knit & Natter is every 3rd Monday, and our services continue on first Sunday (11am) and third Sunday (3pm) each month. In particular on 15th March at 3pm is a Mothering Sunday service, and Easter service on 5th April at 11am.  All welcome.

Finally – a word about our clock. That word is – “Strange”.   Newly restored, it tells the right time, but the chimes are not meshing correctly with the hours.  It’s not quite striking 13 O’clock but it is a bit odd to see the clock say 3pm but hear it chime 11.   Our restorers are back to correct this soon.  In the meantime – come visit! – enjoy the views and horological whimsy (and a cup of proper coffee, chocolate or tea)!
